Carpel Tunnel syndrome
What is Carpal Tunnel syndrome (CTS)?
It is a syndrome that arises from pressure on the median nerve in your wrist. This as well causes numbness, tingling sensations, weakness and other problems in your hand, areas from anywhere in your wrist to your elbows. The carpal tunnel is a small space in your wrist where several other tendons and the median nerve run through. These nerves stretches from the forearm the your wrist, where the carpal tunnel is located.
What causes Carpal Tunnel syndrome?
It is a result of the compression of the median nerve. This pressure may result from a multitude of reasons that can cause the carpal tunnel to become smaller. Such causes can stem from swelling, rheumatoid arthritis and pregnancy.
There are several solutions to treat CTS, however, the chiropractic solution is the most common and prevalent one. The methods most chiropractors use include manipulation of the wrist, elbow, and upper spine, ultrasound therapy, and wrist supports. Chiropractic treatment will provide a significant improvement in nerve function, finger sensation, and comfort.
